We frequent the library and seem to get sick every single time we visit. I wish there were newer items for the kids area- they do rotate the play items frequently but many of the toys are very worn and dingy. The librarians are very sweet and helpful! We liked going to story time for babies and will also try the toddler story time in the future. Placing items on hold online is fairly easy, I appreciate being able to source materials from multiple libraries in the county for lots of options and being able to pick them up when we come is great

Reviews of Heritage Library
I give this 5 with notes. You should expect a library experience proportionate to the community's size and needs. Lakeville's Heritage Library delivers accordingly and the staff were great! The independent workspaces I find throughout this library system have been a game changer for me! Also, as annoying as parking may get with the local DMV attached, I recognize and appreciate the consolidation of government buildings and budget efficiency.
TLDR: I find Dakota Co. Libraries provide great experiences, regardless of the location. Thank you to the folks running the show.
Beautiful toddler space, love love how the board books are stored. Very easy to get our weekly haul.
The 3d printers are awesome I came here because my 3d printer broke(I fixed it( they were nice ) but only 3 hours printing time
The Lakeville library is always fun to visit. The staff is always friendly and the resources are amazing. The new new remodel added many new amenities and spaces.
I love this library and the fact that it's paired with the Dakota county library systems! I grew up in a small town so I was used to waiting 6+ months for a book to become available. Not the case with this library system. Their online system makes it so easy to get holds transferred from other libraries in the county. They are quick and efficient and it's easy to find where your holds are.
The library is clean, welcoming, and overall very quiet. They have Toddler Storytime days and Storytime for 3-5 year olds. I used to love taking my toddler there and she had a great time. They sing songs, read books and have a play time after with the library toys.
There is also a small sized selection of kids puzzles, a dollhouse, some magnet walls and magnetic tiles. There are also 4 small computers for kids 5+.
Computers are also available for adults in a different section near the entrance.
Overall it's not the biggest library, but it's beautiful, clean, renovated, and friendly! I love it and I'm glad to have it around.
