Nice library. Used to come here 16 years ago. Changed a little bit, definitely needs some TLC.
Friendly staff here and very quiet compared to other libraries.
Plenty of parking spots around the library and vicinity of the mall.
Bathrooms needs to be upgraded.
The Oglethorpe Library in Savannah is a warm and welcoming space, thanks to the incredibly kind and helpful librarians who go out of their way to support families and young readers. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of a community that truly cares about literacy and learning.
This branch is full of hands-on fun for kids—from puzzles and drawing activities to free access to ABCmouse on their computers. It’s the perfect balance of play and education, making it a great stop for both curious toddlers and early readers.
What really stands out is the wide selection of diverse books. The shelves are thoughtfully filled with stories that reflect a range of cultures, identities, and perspectives. It’s a place where every child can find a book that speaks to them.
One of my favorite libraries in the area — spacious kids’ section, plenty of computers upstairs, and printing that’s quicker and easier than most other libraries I’ve used. My daughter once spotted someone resting upstairs and whispered, ‘Zombie!’ (Don’t worry — just part of the unique local atmosphere.) Always a good stop for both kid time and getting things done.
Helpful staff. Cleanly environment.
Staff very helpful and knowledgeable !
